A well-structured menu is essential for providing visitors with easy navigation and access to key areas of your website. The KERAPY WordPress Theme makes it simple to create and customize menus directly from the WordPress dashboard.

Accessing the Menu Settings

  1. Navigate to Appearance > Menus:
    • From your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Menus.
    • This will open the menu management panel, where you can create, edit, and organize your menus.
  2. Select or Create a Menu:
    • If you already have a menu, select it from the dropdown list to edit.
    • If you’re starting fresh, click Create a New Menu, give it a name (e.g., “Main Menu”), and click Create Menu.

Adding Items to Your Menu

  1. Choose Menu Items:
    • On the left side of the menu editor, you’ll see options like Pages, Posts, Custom Links, and Categories.
    • Select the items you want to include in your menu. For example:
      • Pages: Add static pages like “About Us” or “Contact.”
      • Posts: Include individual blog posts.
      • Custom Links: Link to external URLs or specific sections of your site.
      • Categories: Add categories to display posts grouped by topics.
  2. Add to Menu:
    • Check the boxes next to the items you want to include and click the Add to Menu button.
  3. Organize Menu Items:
    • Drag and drop menu items to arrange them in your preferred order.
    • To create a dropdown menu, drag an item slightly to the right under a parent item.

Assigning the Menu to a Location

  1. Primary Menu Location:
    • Scroll to the Menu Settings section at the bottom of the menu editor.
    • Check the box for Primary Menu to set it as the main navigation menu for your site.
  2. Other Menu Locations (Optional):
    • Depending on the theme, additional menu locations may be available, such as Footer Menu or Top Bar Menu. Assign your menu to the appropriate location.
  3. Save Menu:
    • Once you’ve added and organized your menu items, click the Save Menu button to apply the changes.

Customizing the Menu Appearance

  1. Custom Menu Styling:
    • Navigate to Appearance > Customize > Menus to style your menu directly in the WordPress Customizer.
    • Adjust colors, fonts, hover effects, and alignment to match your branding.
  2. Adding Icons:
    • Some menu items may allow you to add icons next to text (depending on the theme’s features). Use plugins or theme-specific options to enable this functionality.
  3. Mega Menu (Optional):
    • If KERAPY supports mega menus, you can create advanced dropdown menus by adding widgets, columns, or custom content to your navigation.

Editing or Deleting Menu Items

  1. To Edit a Menu Item:
    • Click the dropdown arrow next to the menu item to reveal its settings. Update the label, URL, or other details.
  2. To Remove a Menu Item:
    • Click the Remove link inside the item’s settings.
